S. Thomas Padgett is an attorney whose practice emphasizes bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1980, the Florida Bar in 1981, and the California Bar in 1992. He has over 30 years of experience in debtor/creditor relations, bankruptcy, collections, and commercial litigation.
Mr. Padgett has represented many lenders, businesses, and individuals in bankruptcies, bankruptcy litigation, and collection litigation as creditors and debtors and has tried many complex lawsuits in state and federal courts. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Commercial Law League of America, the State Bar of Michigan, the Florida Bar, and the California State Bar. He is also admitted to the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California.
Mr. Padgett is board certified as a civil trial attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is also board certified by the American Board of Certification, f/k/a the Commercial Law League of America Academy of Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Specialists.

Kelly Kumpula earned her Juris Doctor degree from The College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 2004. At William & Mary, she was a Graduate Research Fellow and researched for the book, The Relationship Rights of Children, by James G. Dwyer. She was also a research assistant for a corporations professor. Kelly earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan - Dearborn, where she graduated with Academic Distinction in 2001. Kelly Kumpula was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in November, 2004. She is also admitted to practice in the Federal Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan in 2005.
Following graduation, Kelly practiced in the areas of real estate, creditors rights, and bankruptcy law. In 2009, Kelly joined DeBrincat, Padgett, Kobliska & Zick to focus on creditors rights and bankruptcy law.

Deborah Sellis joined the firm in July, 2008, where she practices litigation in Bankruptcy Court and in state courts throughout Michigan. She represents a variety of financial and lending institutions as well as individuals in commercial, collection, bankruptcy and probate matters. In addition, Mrs. Sellis has extensive experience in trial and appellate court, representing both individual and corporate interests.
Mrs. Sellis was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in 1998, Delaware in 1999, and Michigan in 2007. She has also been admitted in the U.S. District Courts for Delaware, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Mrs. Sellis received her bachelor of arts degree, cum laude, from Villanova University in 1994. She earned her law degree at Villanova University School of Law, where she was a Contributing Editor and then Managing Editor of the Villanova Law Review.
